We have been customers of Pierre’s since he first came to Cochrane and opened Portofino. He and his staff provide the most consistent, personal service and food quality we have ever enjoyed. The food is outstanding and the service is awesome. We are very fortunate to have an eating establishment of this caliber in Cochrane!

Worth the drive (From Calgary) just for the Calamari! The Tenderloin in lobster butter was AMAZING and I absolutely love the attention to detail. The waiter even remembered after us only going for the second time how I prefer my water!
Dinner was fantastic as was the service. Appies of calamari, minestrone and french onion soup were really tasty and mains of pesto gnocchi, salmon dinner and cannelloni were superb. The kids had Caesar salad and spaghetti with meat sauce which they loved. Desserts were great, too. Cochrane has a real gem in Portofino. Will be back soon!
We love Pierre! He is our personal master chef extraordinaire and we miss him out in Cochrane but there is nothing better than a trip out for a wonderful meal.

Pierre has a firm handle on the 18 basic peasant ingredients of Italian cooking. I know few chefs who do! What makes Pierre great is that he also combines those ingredients properly and skillfully with the rest of his pantry then executes perfectly. I trust anything he presents would be worth trying and all would be an enjoyable taste sensation. Combine that with a nice, quite well layed out dinning room and great wait staff and some very reasonable prices and Viola! If you love Italian food (and I do; both to cook and to eat) then why wouldn’t you eat here? A great find. Im telling all my foodie friends!
